My 1st Influenster Box!

Revive Vox Box from Influenster

The products in the influenster Revive Vox Box were provided for free for an honest review.

I received my first Influenster box – the Revive VoxBox – a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to make sure I tried everything before I wrote a review. The box was filled with products from SnackWells, SheaMoisture, Kauai Coffee, and the Vitamin Shoppe.

The SnackWells Dark Chocolate Mocha biscuit thins came broken but I was still able to enjoy a few. They were unlike anything I’ve tried before. The package noted that they’re made with real coffee so coffee drinkers will definitely love these! I tried these out with a cup of coffee. These biscuit thins would be great first thing in the morning or as a pick me up (especially that 2pm drag that happens everyday at work). I could definitely see buying these in other flavors! Four biscuits contained 200 calories and 24g of whole grain. SnackWells Biscuit Thins cost between $2.98-3.96 each and are available in caramel mocchiato, french vanilla latte, and dark chocolate mocha.

The Brew & Renew compostable pods came in three kinds – Hills Bros. 100% Columbian Premium Arabica in medium roast, Kauai Coffee in Garden Isle medium roast, and Chock Full o’Nuts Midtown Manhattan in medium roast. I’ve had Chock Full o’ Nuts before but the other two were new to me. These single serve pods were easy to use and fit perfectly in my Keurig. I tried the Kauai Coffee in Garden Isle and it was pretty good. I usually stick to basic coffee and use flavored creamers to taste but starting with a flavored blend let me skip that step and use regular creamer. The Hills Bros, Chock Full o’Nuts, and Kauai Coffee cups are 100% compostable. A 12 ct box is $6.99 meaning you only spend 58 cents per cup.

The Vitamin Shoppe shake mixes – Plnt by V plant protein in vanilla, Next Step Fit n’ Full Shake in cookies n cream and BodyTech Whey Tech Pro 24 in strawberries & cream along with a BodyTech bottle with removable shaker. The Plnt by V shake has 19g protein and is free of gluten, dairy, soy and nuts. The vanilla taste was good, it was subtle and wasn’t overpowering at all. It tasted like a vanilla shake without the sugar. I used the BodyTech bottle to mix the pack up with a cup of cold water. I loved the bottle because it made mixing shakes on the go easy. The shaker piece was removable making clean up easy as well. The Vitamin Shoppe product line includes supplements, herbs, meal replacement shakes with the protein powers available for $19.99-24.99 for 12 packets.

SheaMoisture was one brand I was really familiar with. As a naturally curly head I use a bunch of SheaMoisture products but hadn’t tried the Fuit Fusion Coconut Water weightless shampoo and weightless crème rinse – both with Imbe Oil & Aloe. As with all SheaMoisture products, there are no parabens, phthalates, paraffin, propylene glycol, mineral oil, synthetic fragrance or color, DEA, sulfates and they don’t animal test. I’ve been following the curly girl method so I shampoo infrequently and don’t use products with cones (any product ending in –cone i.e. dimethicone. Here’s more info on how damaging cones can be.) and SheaMoisture doesn’t include cones in any of their products. The weightless shampoo smelled awesome! It lathered nicely and rinsed clean without any problems. Although the package recommended leaving the crème rinse in for 1-2 minutes, I left it in for 10. I usually use a conditioner to detangle my curls and would have used the crème rinse to do so if I had more of it. My hair was left super curly and soft. I have to buy full sizes of both of these ASAP. Both the Fruit Fusion Coconut Water Weightless Shampoo and Weightless Creme Rinse are $10.99 for 13oz.

Thanks for checking out my first Influenster review! Let me know if you’ve tried anything here and what you thought about it! I know this post wasn’t polish related but have no worries…

Nail Tonic - Rainbowfish

Tonic Polish – Rainbowfish

I purchased Rainbowfish from Tonic Polish’s debut collection. I’m a sucker for anything with holo and flakes. In my post yesterday I stamped over it with MoYou London polishes and plates. This time I wanted to fight the urge to stamp and leave it alone…

Nail Tonic - RainbowfishI decided to wear one coat Rainbowfish over two coats of Bonita – This Beach is Bombay. When I wore it under stamping, I wore two coats alone. I figured layering it would stretch out how long this bottle will last me…

Nail Tonic - RainbowfishNail Tonic - RainbowfishI love this polish so much! What do you think?

Nail Tonic - Rainbowfish

Tonic Polish – Rainbowfish w/Stamping

If you follow me on Instagram you’ve seen this one already. I purchased Rainbowfish from Tonic Polish’s first collection because I couldn’t resist it. Then I had to stamp little fish on top, of course…

Nail Tonic - RainbowfishI used MoYou polishes – Electric Teal, Orchid Chic and plates – sailor 05 and 07.

Nail Tonic - RainbowfishI also wanted to test out a different background. I’m torn. I don’t know if I like it enough to change it permanently…

Nail Tonic - Rainbowfish I’ll be posting photos of Rainbow fish by itself within the next couple of days. My nails have grown out a bit since this picture…

I purchased all four and was not disappointed at all…I immediately had to try them on! As usual I used Orly Bonder as basecoat, Seche Vite for topcoat. MoYou London - Flamingo Stamping

Pink Flamingo Stamping

Happy Friday! I’ve been on a MoYou London buying spree the last couple of weeks with the weekly mani boxes and sale they had recently. I received Tourist 17 and Tropical 16 plates a couple of days ago. Funny enough, I also received  Vapid Lacquer – Ride or Die that came with a cute little flamingo. I knew what I had to do next…

MoYou London - Flamingo StampingI used MoYou London polishes – Electric Teal, Mint Condition, Pink and an unlabeled pink to stamp. The glitter polish is Pirate Princess Polish – Serenity. I didn’t topcoat Serenity because I loved the texture so much… MoYou London - Flamingo StampingI immediately wanted to head to the beach. This looks so much like summer to me! What do you think?

Swatch & Review: Chinelo by OOO Polish

I have another polish from OOO polish today. Chinelo is a part of the Mother Nature collection and is described as a shimmery pink that adapts to anyone’s skin tone. I used Queen Up base coat and Shine Like a Queen top coat.

OOO Polish - Chinelo I was going to layer this over another color but I wanted to build it up on its own. I sponged a couple of layers of Chinelo to make decals, put them over one coat Queen Up base coat, and topped with Shine Like a Queen top coat.

OOO Polish - ChineloI don’t usually like pinks on me but I love the gold shimmer in Chinelo. My camera was able to pick it up really well here so it’s not shy at all. Love love love this polish.

OOO Polish - ChineloThe formula was easy to work with, not too thick – just a little thin so you can put this over another color to add a little pink and gold shimmer on top or build it up like I did here. I’d definitely use this as a base for some stamping.

Chinelo is available for $7.50 on OOO Polish’s site. Queen Up base coat is $4.25 and Shine Like a Queen top coat is $4 separately or you can purchase them both in the essentials package for $7.

Enchanted Polish – Moon Water

I snagged Moon Water on Enchanted Polish’s site along with the June and July 2016 monthlies. Moon Water is a shifty grey holographic. The formula is great, signature Enchanted formula with no issues at all. I used three coats just to make sure I had full coverage but I could’ve gotten away with two.

Enchanted Polish - Moon WaterI love this polish! I can definitely see doing some nail art over this…

Enchanted Polish - Moon WaterMoon Water is currently sold out but will be available again soon. Keep an eye on Enchanted’s instagram page and make sure you sign up for the newsletter to get restock updates.

Thanks for stopping by!

Swatch & Review: Olorun by OOO Polish

Happy Friday! I took a little time after the holiday weekend to get my new set up together. I’ve graduated from my iPhone 6 and Ottlight to a Canon T5i and lightbox. I’m still getting used to my camera and lighting set up but I’m sure it’ll be an improvement on my old photos!

I had the chance to try out a few polishes from OOO Polish, a brand that was new to me until a couple of weeks ago. Symantha makes polishes that compliment many different skin tones that also look good on the many shades and undertones of women of color.

Olorun from the Universe Collection is a polish OOO Polish describes as a super vibrant holographic green. I used one coat each of OOO Polish’s Queen Up basecoat and Shine Like a Queen topcoat.

OOOPolish - OlorunI put two coats of Olorun over L.A. Colors Mint except for my ring finger where I used three coats Olorun stamped with BMC Lucky Green using Born Pretty plate BP-L 008. You can build Olorun up to semi-opacity with a couple of coats or put it over any color to add some holographic sparkle.

OOOPolish - OlorunOlorun also adds a beautiful green shimmer my camera didn’t capture that you definitely need to see in person. Both the Queen Up basecoat and Shine Like a Queen topcoat dried quickly and left a super shiny finish. I’ve been wearing this for three days without any chipping or peeling.

OOOPolish - OlorunI love that this brand is vegan and 5 free! Olorun is available at OOO Polish’s site for $7.50 along with lots of other beautiful colors. Queen Up base coat is $4.25 and Shine Like a Queen top coat is $4 separately or you can purchase them both in the essentials package for $7.

Swatch & Review: Bitzy Nail Color from Sally Beauty

I saw these cute crellies (cream+jellies) for sale on Sally Beauty’s site and had to grab them. For all four of these I used my fav base and top coats – Orly Bonder and Seche Vite.

Bitzy Nail Color - Electric Cake

Bitzy Nail Color – Electric Cake

Electric Cake is a hot pink crelly with green, blue, silver, pink, orange and yellow glitters in different sizes. I used three coats with one top coat layer. I could’ve gotten it a little smoother with two. Formula was easy to work with.

Bitzy Nail Color - Dilly Dally

Bitzy Nail Color – Dilly Dally

Dilly Dally’s base was similar to electric cake except it leans a little more purple. There’s tons of blue glitter in multiple sizes. Again, three coats polish and one coat topcoat. Formula was exactly the same…easy to work with, no issues.

Bitzy Nail Color - Garden Gnome

Bitzy Nail Color – Garden Gnome

Garden Gnome is a neon purple crelly base with blue glitters in multiple sizes with some bar glitter mixed in. I don’t usually like bar glitter but these were on the small side and added something different. No snags, all of it smoothed out with top coat. Three coats polish and one coat topcoat.

Bitzy Nail Color - Sweetie Pie

Bitzy Nail Color – Sweetie Pie

Sweetie pie is a white based crelly with different sized glitters in neon pink, yellow, and green. Some of the glitter in this one was on the larger size, bigger than the glitters in the others, but still no issues with application. Three coats polish and one coat topcoat.

Bitzy Nail Color - Sweetie Pie (macro)

Bitzy Nail Color – Sweetie Pie (macro)

I love that retail polish companies are realizing that there’s more to polish other than cremes and glitter toppers. These colors are great for summer – neons with a little extra glitter thrown in if you’re bored with cremes. The formula on all of these was good – no pooling, no fishing for glitters, no issues at all. Next time I’d probably use two coats top coat just to get an extra smooth finish but other than that I loved them. These are regularly super affordable at $1.69 but they’re on sale right now for $1.49 on Sally Beauty’s site! These are smaller bottles at 7.5mL/2.5 fl oz with the tops as wide and tall as the bottle but the brush is easy to work with – not too big, not too small.

I also purchased a couple of Bitzy glitter polishes. I’ll post those soon.

Which one was your fav?
